PRIDE, the Housing
Authority’s new tenant orientation program, is an acronym for
People taking Responsibility for Individual Development and
Economic Success. The aim of the program is to familiarize new
residents with program rules and regulations, fraud prevention,
and onsite social service programs offered to residents.
Staff members from
administration, property management, and maintenance participate
in the program. Contact information and an overview of each
department are provided to participants. Residents also view a
power point presentation entitled “Welcome to Your New Home” which
provides housekeeping hints and expectations for proper apartment
maintenance.
The primary goals are
to positively promote public housing, build stronger relationships
with residents, promote community and self pride.
